| FILE INFO | | Caption | In July of 1996 Reef Relief divers discovered and documented a very aggressive coral disease outbreak called White Plague Type II that appeared to be have affected many coral colonies across the face of Sand Key reef. This was yet another accomplishment for the monitoring program because this was the first time that White Plague Type II had been documented in the Lower Keys. In this image YB1 is tri-infected with yellow band disease, black band disease and coral loss to the White Plague Type II. |
