Dr. Raymond Hayes was shocked by the observation of this strange phenomena of inflated and deflated polyps . He failed to generate the interest of local coral reef managers of this severe coral ailment even though he later identified a fungus in the mucus samples we collected from this coral when this picture was taken. |
