This transect covers the shallow area of this reef where elkhorn coral grows called the palmata zone. Elkhorn coral is hard to recognize and follow as a specific subject so oftten groups of colonies that grow in the same location will be identified as subjects. Monitoring the movement of the rubble on the sea floor gives an indication of the impact that storms have on the shallow reef.

This dive site is located on the face of the reef near the 'Mystery Disk' and was once a favorite spot for shallow diving.
